Dedicated sports injury rehab in Basingstoke
Sports injury specialist in Basingstoke
Being sidelined due to a sports injury is the worst.
It can disrupt your routine and make you feel hopeless, especially during long recoveries. I believe having guidance in rehab is important, not just from the perspective of ensuring the tissue heals appropriately, but to also address any fear of the injury re-occuring. I have guided many individuals back to sport and performing at their best. I am to continue this for the people of Basingstoke.
Common sports injuries I have rehabilitated include Muscle strains, Ligament sprains, Ligament ruptures, Tendinopathies, Tendon ruptures, Joint dislocations, Stress fractures, Bone fractures, Overuse injuries, Whiplash and Post-trauma injuries.
Clients with sports injuries often present with
Swelling
Bruising
Reduced range of motion
Joint instability
Inability to bear weight

The PEACE and LOVE protocol is a modern, evidence-based approach for soft-tissue injuries (sprains, strains), replacing older RICE methods to improve long-term healing.
P.E.A.C.E. (Immediate/Acute Phase)
Protect: Restrict movement for 1–3 days to prevent further injury, but minimize prolonged rest.
Elevate: Raise the limb higher than the heart to reduce swelling.
Avoid Anti-inflammatories: Avoid NSAIDs (like ibuprofen) and ice, as they may impair long-term healing by disrupting the natural inflammatory process.
Compress: Use bandages or taping to manage swelling.
Educate: Learn about your injury and opt for active recovery rather than passive treatments.
L.O.V.E. (Sub-acute/Rehabilitation Phase)
Load: Gradually reintroduce weight-bearing and movement to promote tissue healing.
Optimism: Maintain a positive outlook to increase the likelihood of optimal recovery.
Vascularisation: Engage in pain-free, aerobic activity (e.g., cycling, walking) to increase blood flow.
Exercise: Perform exercises to restore mobility and strength
