Specialist care for neck pain in Basingstoke

What is neck pain?

66% of adults experience neck pain at some point in their lives.

Neck pain can either occur gradually or suddenly. Either way, the impact of the condition can be significant and prevent you from working, doing daily chores or even concentrating. I approach neck pain holistically, identifying the multiple factors that may be involved in driving the discomfort. I then create a treatment strategy that promotes long-lasting physical resilience and symptom management.

Answering your neck pain questions

  • Yes! Physiotherapy can be highly effective in managing acute and chronic neck pain.

  • This is dependent on the nature of the neck pain and the severity of the condition. For example, a severe muscular strain within the neck typically takes 8-12 weeks to fully recover. Whilst a mild strain may only take 2-4 weeks. If your neck pain is related to a chronic degenerative condition such as spondylosis, the aim will be to manage the neck pain and symptoms long term rather than aiming for a full recovery. Other conditions such as a cervical herniated disc typically takes 6-12 weeks for most people to recover.
