What is pre and post operative rehab?
Approximately 5 million surgical procedures are performed in the UK annually.
That is roughly one in ten people going under the knife each year. Research in rehabilitation medicine highlights that a massive portion of the population is unprepared for the physical and mental demands of recovery, particularly in cases of elective surgery. I believe Pre and Post-rehabilitation should be an essential part of the surgical plan as it improves mental readiness for treatment, accelerates recovery, reduces complications, improves outcomes and long term functionality.
My approach not only works on fitness, strength, flexibility and mobility but also highlights the importance of nutrition and emotional readiness.

Attend Initial Consultation
At your first appointment, I will take a thorough history of your problem and ask detailed questions about the behaviour of your symptoms and relevant medical history. I will then observe, examine, and test various movements and structures to diagnose your problem and establish the cause of your symptoms.

Bespoke pre and post rehab sessions
Pre rehab we will work on improving physical health and mental readiness, allowing a faster recovery and reduced risk of complication post surgery.
Post rehab will work on regaining function, mobility and confidence after surgery.

Once arrived onto Dummer Down Farm, drive towards the Tin Shed scenery unit. Once here, you can proceed round towards the back and you will see a Gym called YourBodyGuru. Please note the clinic room is within the YourBodyGuru Gym. There is free parking outside the gym or at the main entrance of the Dummer Down Farm. The farm is only accessible by car as it is in a rural area.
